February Black History Month

Question for the week. (Please put the answer on a piece of paper with your first & last name in the counseling office)

Who is the person responsible for launching the Birmingham bus boycott, one of the pivotal events of the civil-rights movement?

Condoleezza Rice is an American political scientist and diplomat. She served as the 66th United States Secretary of State, the second person to hold that office in the administration of President George W. Bush. Both Condoleeza Rice and Martin Luther King, Jr. started college when they were just 15 years old. She studied political science at the University of Denver; and he majored in sociology at Morehouse College in Atlanta which is one of many historical black colleges.

Student Attendance

  • Daily attendance is necessary for a student to be successful at school. In addition, patterns of regular attendance and on-time arrival established now will help students throughout their education and their employment years.

  • If a student’s absence or tardy is excused, they should bring a note from a parent or guardian excusing them. Failure to bring a note within three days will automatically be considered unexcused.

  • Student’s attendance and tardies are monitored by the school. Beginning Marking Period 3 on January 29, 2019, students will be receiving consequences after three tardies to school.
