Every Student Succeeds Act State Report Card

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has released a new accountability report card for every school in the state of Maryland.

Learn more by viewing this short video: ESSA State Report Card

A presentation will be made to the community at the December 11, 2018 PTA meeting at 6:00 PM

Instrumental Program Fundraiser

The Instrumental Music program at GMS will hold a fundraiser during the Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 12, from 5:45 pm to 9 pm. Baked goods, snacks, pizza and water will be sold. A seating area will be set up near the gym.

Donations of baked goods, snacks and bottles of water are needed, as well as volunteers to staff the concession table.

All the funds raised will support much-needed repairs of school-owned instruments and the purchase of new instruments, so that more students are able to borrow instruments and showcase their amazing talents. Did you know that it costs between $100 and $300 to repair one clarinet or clean a brass instrument, and that many of the school's instruments need new cases? The addition of an instrument such as a vibraphone or a marimba would also widen the scope of the music students can practice and perform year-round. A vibraphone costs $3,000! Every dollar counts!!!
