8th Grade Fundraiser at Chipotle
The 8th-grade team will be sponsoring a fundraiser at Chipotle on Monday, February 25th from 4 to 8. Please come to the Chipotle at 564 N. Frederick Ave. and tell them you’re there to support the 8th graders at Gaithersburg Middle School. Your contribution will go towards helping GMS 8th graders enjoy and participate at the end of year activities. If you have any questions please ask Mr. Padilla or Mrs. Larcamp. Thank you for your help.
Swimming Classes
The final swimming unit of the 2018-2019 school year begins on Tuesday, 2/18/19.
If your child has registered for the class, please sign the permission form and return it if you haven’t already done so. If your child needs an extra copy of the form, they are available on the school website.
All registered students should be ready to enter the water in a bathing suit or appropriate swimwear on Tuesday during their physical education class.

AM and PM Student Drop-off Expectations
Please pull forward in the drop off loop when bringing your child in the morning. The traffic has been backing up onto Teachers Way and causing congestion.
Do not drop off students on Teachers Way or in the staff parking lot near the cafeteria. This is dangerous for our students and we want to ensure their safety.
Please be sure your child to ready to exit the vehicle when you arrive at GMS.

All candidates going to the SMOB Nominating convention on Wednesday, February 20th, please stop by and see Ms..Mesina at some point today in room 101.
Anti-Bullying Awareness Day-February 21
The city of Gaithersburg is recognizing February 21 as an Anti-Bullying Awareness Day.
We at GMS, in support of our community are wearing blue on February 21st to show our commitment to end bullying.
We hope all students and staff will join together to show support for all those impacted by bullying.
GMStrong Talent Show
"Got talent? Create a solo or group act and audition for GMStrong's 4th annual Talent Show!
Sign up in the main office to audition after school on Tuesday, February 26th or Wednesday, February 27th. Come to auditions prepared with your props, music, scripts, or anything else your act needs!"
The show goes on Thursday, April 4th at 6:00 PM in the GMS Gym.
6th grade Outdoor Education Information
Outdoor Education for our 6th graders is quickly approaching.
The MCPS 6thGrade Outdoor Education program is an exciting three-day, two-night outdoor learning experience at the Smith Center. Students received their permission slips on 1/15/19 and Outdoor Education packet through their Science classes.
All paperwork and money/checks $80.00should be returned to their Science teacher. If financial assistance is needed, please indicate this on the GMS paperwork. Checks should be made out to Gaithersburg Middle School.
All forms and money are due by February 28th.
GMS Soccer-Boys
Attention all boys interested in trying out for the soccer team. Forms are outside Ms. Larcamp’s room (809).
There will be an interest meeting sometime next week.

Garden Club
Garden Club will start meeting again on Thursday, February 21st in the Greenhouse after school from 3:10-4:15 PM. This club will work to keep our garden growing and support student’s love for plants and nature. Talia hopes to see you there!

Business Challenge Program
Do you want to challenge yourself? Do you want real-world experience for your resume? Are you interested in solving a local problem? Do you wish to start a business someday?
